Sketch Mirror App Reviews

I use an iPhone 6 trying to mirror an iPhone 6 template from the Sketch template gallery and it doesnt mirror correctly on my device. I found that if you scale your art board to 99% and then double tap your mirror app you can make it fit, but then its all pixelated and your sketch values are all 1% smaller. Very frustrating because this app has a lot of potential to quickly check if a design feels right in your hand.

When it works, its amazing. Problem is: it NEVER works and fails silently without much to help troubleshoot the problems. This was an expensive app and it should be free with the many issues it has. Hoping that someday this product improves.

This is the first app I have ever reviewed. The connectivity issues with this app are real. They should switch the name from Mirror to RestartSketch. Waste of time and $5. Extremely frustrating. One of the few areas Sketch is behind Adobe.

This product is essential for a phone developer/designer, but seems to work only 10% of the time for me. Tedious

It is constantly disconnecting or loading. I usually have to force quit the app, turn off my network settings, turn it back on, reconnect, try to manually enter the IP address, hope that it connects, etc. I find myself doing this at least 20x a day. Does Bohemian want to be considered stable enough for professional work or are they targeting mom and dad who use photoshop on the weekend?

I paid $5 for this app. It has so much potential, but it fails so hard. Please fix this! I paid enough for it!

Im so sick to try to connect this app a hundred time a day... Sketch makes my life better expect when it comes to cast my artboards on a phone. The first time its working, and then dont even think about touching it - it will freeze and youre skewed.

Please fix this app! (Bitmap disappearing, label glitches..)

I really wish this app would work because it would make my life as a designer so much easier, but the fact is that it rarely does. I am struggling every day to try to connect it to Sketch. Dont know if the problem is with Sketch or Mirror, but result is that this app is useless to me.

I have an iPhone 5, and using art boards sized for those dimensions, it worked and still works wonderfully. Its great for quickly seeing what my designs looked like. As a student just starting to learn UX and just getting started with Sketch to design my dream apps, thank you guys. Love this.

Guys! Love sketch but this is a crucial tool in the mobile design process, and its SO buggy! It literally makes me upset :( get some of your QA folks on it and fix!

Ive been doing a lot of switching between files and the sync keeps up the entire time.

This app/ system is far from perfect. But its really handy as you can see the change as it looks on a device immediately, instead of having to export it as a picture and transfer it to your device. Saves a lot of time, and makes the entire app design process a lot more smooth. Sadly it lacks in features and stability, but its a step on the right track. However I think its unfair that we have to pay $5 for it, after weve already paid $99 for Sketch itself. It should be part of the "package", and therefore available for free to use.

Mostly use it to review design on the device. Find it to be a helpful extension to the Mac app. Not completely replacing InVision, but hopefully theyll get there this year. We are increasing our use of Sketch and migrating away from Adobes alternatives.

The app works fine. Dont listen to the 1 stars. The app syncs up almost instantly and displays changes in a matter of seconds. Its a great way to see your designs on your device. Remember your Sketch artboard should match the device you want to mirror to. Otherwise it wont display properly (obviously). $4.99 is a bit much for this app but I pay it happily in support of Bohemian Coding. Keep up the great work guys.

Exactly what I expected. I have not run into any issues with the app.

The app works, however if it ever goes in the background it disconnects, and then opens up a new inbound port on return. I have to then re enter that into sketch, every...single...time. Oh and it doesnt show you the new port it bound to, so you have to kill the app and re-open or else youre stuck. Would be helpful if I just bound to a static port rather than choosing dynamically. Or at least show me the IP I have to enter

Loads quickly which is nice and something Ive had trouble with on other programs. It really needs better zooming though, and smarter double tapping. My art boards are set up to the correct width but are also set up to scroll on my iPad, and I have to awkwardly pinch/zoom each page to get it roughly the right size.

When you open the app, its great. Then after some time of work a file when you want to see an updated state or just switch between artboards, you realize its stuck. It takes a looong to update a small detail like color change. I never had problems with Scala for Photoshop. Another problem is scaling screens. If you design in @1x for iphone5 and test on iphone6+ you see properly sized screens with black borders. You can double tap to fit the screen which is useful. But when you swipe to switch to another artboard, the screen gets misaligned. A small suggestion regarding scaling. Why not to apply scaling to all of artboards? Whats the point of comparing screens in different sizes?
